About Us

Our Background

Founded in 2018 by Chris " The Mayor" Atkinson. He started off doing Facebook live videos from his personal page. After getting a small following he decided to branch out and get a group of friends together to share views on various topics. That is when Nick Howell and Steven Shuffler joined.The Bearded Opinion was born. Along the way a local bar, Fyreside Bottles and Brews, agreed to be the home of TBO. After a few live shows Chris brought on his friend David Clark as a special guest. Dave did a few more shows and Chris decided to make him a honorary member. Rob Bolick is an employee at Fyreside and is exceptionally skilled with a camera. After seeing his work from shooting a few live shows for TBO he was asked to join the team. Everyone that is a part of TBO come from all walks of life and each person brings a different dynamicto the group. TBO is a big supporter of the "shop local" movement. We enjoy helping and seeing small businesses thrive in our community.

The Mayor

Much can be said about the man, the myth, the legend Chris" The Mayor" Atkinson. According to his wife though, he is a perpetual 12 year old. He is into retro video games, laserdisc, and collecting vinyl.

Nick Howell

Host of The Bearded Opinion. He's all about the Patriots and Tom Brady. He's been a Duke fan since he was 6 years old but is way more of a football fan than basketball. Which is odd since he was an excellent basketball player when he was younger. His world revolves around his wife and daughter. his hobbies include video editing, golf, lifting weights, and playing shooter/RPG games on the PC. For nick nothing is more important than family and friends so he tries to surround himself with those.

Steven Shuffler

Born and raised in the foothills of NC. which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. He is a passionate Duke Blue Devil fan and an avid golfer. He enjoys the occasional video game, as well as a cold beer and good conversation.

David Clark

The Bearded Llama

David Clark is an avid wolverine hunter and all-around dapper gentleman. He loves cotton candy, Astronomy, and collecting trinkets/doo-dads. He is a master of all things beard.

Rob Bolick

The Berded Lens

Rob lives a very mysterious life. All we really know about him is that he was born in a camera laboratory. He is madly in love with his girlfriend/camera. Her name is Nikki and she takes great pictures.
